Hewenden Junior Football Club

Our U6 programme is designed to give children in school Year One their first exciting steps into the world of grassroots football. These sessions focus on fun, movement, and building confidence with the ball, all in a safe and supportive environment. Through engaging games and age-appropriate activities, children begin to learn the basics of football—dribbling, passing, shooting, and most importantly, teamwork. It’s all about sparking a love for the game while developing coordination, listening skills, and social interaction.

As the season progresses, our U6 players start preparing for the transition into the U7 age group, where they’ll have the opportunity to play friendly matches and join our mini soccer teams. This pathway ensures a smooth and enjoyable progression, helping each child feel ready and excited for the next step. With a great coach and a focus on positive experiences, our U6 sessions lay the foundation for a lifelong love of football.
